that'll teach 'em not to trust me.

The co-worker whose name I drew as Secret Santa pretty much just wanted a gift certificate.

Can you guess the one thing they won't be getting?

(if you guessed "a bathtub full of pirhana", we'll count that too)

Ah, so this person should have said, "I absolutely do NOT want a gift certificate."

Nope!
That would have got him the same results, I'm afraid. I insist on putting more thought than that into their present.

Oops.
Just revealed their gender.

I suppose there's no harm done, the gift exchange being over already..

Re: Nope!
Well, now I know where you were going with that... Well, that's nice that you wanted to put in some thought into it. What did you end up getting this person?

What part of "Secret" did you not understand, Santa?
I got him three things:
  • An action figure of a man incinerated by his own cigarette (from Beetlejuice)
  • A trade paperback of Bluntman and Chronic comics
  • A glowing pen that oscillates colors
Came nowhere close to the suggested pricerange, but I can't decide if I was above or below it.

I've never participated in the office Secret Santa. Was going to this year, but it didn't pan out. Oh well... Anyway, today was the day of revelation of who got who. Two memorable Secret Santa gifts: a hula Gumby (yes, he's wearing a grass skirt) and a lava lamp! Cool!

And did he like them?

Well, that's why I got three things.
He was very excited about the Bluntman and Chronic comics, being a huge Kevin Smith fan and having no idea these existed.

He acted more enthusiastic than he was about the action figure, but I think there was some amusement, at least.

And the pen, I don't think he liked at all. But he only saw it in a well-lit environment. When he tries it in darkness, that will change everything...
