...but is it art?

Back at CalArts, I wrote a piece of ambient music that, played in it's entirety, runs a solid two weeks without repeating.

Kind of worthless, really. It can never be performed, and breaking it up into seperate CDs (over 300 of 'em) would defeat the whole purpose. But that was me at CalArts for you.

Anyway, it occurred to me a minute ago I could actually produce this thing as a single mp3 file burnt to DVD media, with room to spare for a second movement.

That's pretty cool.

I mean, there will never be a market for it, but I'd have my place in music history. I'd be an instant trivia question!

Might be worth doing...

So... long ride
Your music would work great if we ever build an elevator to the moon, and need some music to pass the time.... Hehe, no offense... I would really love to hear a sample if you have any clips or whatnot...

I'm hoping I still have the MIDI file somewhere, but it's probably another casualty of that time I formatted the wrong hard drive.
(everyone told me I'd laugh about it later. thus far, they're still wrong)

Whatever. The technology's improved a bit these past seven or eight years. I could probably make a better version today without nearly as much work.

Elevator to the Moon
- Dude, I think you just titled it.
