Calgon Moment

I'm back from the Game Developer's Conference with a ton of updates to post and followup e-mails to send. I'll get to those later. Right now, I'm just enjoying the languid thrill of not having anywhere to be in five minutes. I've been appreciating that all day.

I think I'm going to put off unpacking until tomorrow. With so much of my worldly belongings put aside in the car, it's a rare chance to get some serious cleaning done. I want to get my desk cleared off before I put the computer back, in any event.

Wrote up a sequential to-do list for the next few days. Only 15 items to keep track of, but they'll all branch out into their own lists soon enough. It's this rising tide of complexity I'm shrugging off for the moment. With any luck, the respite will make me more effective in dealing with everything tomorrow.

Okay, this is getting annoying.
Cirque du Soleil is amazing, mind boggling, and flawlessly represents everything that show business was ever meant to embody. Quite simply, it makes any other live or recorded performance, regardless of media, look bad.

That being said, I'm not open to debating that position, and wouldn't expect to see it opposed in a fan community anyway. And I'm not terribly interested to hear that I'm not alone in this opinion, either. I don't care when anyone else became a fan, or which shows they feel best captured the spirit of Cirque.

As for upcoming shows, DVD releases, etc.. You know, they do have an official mailing list.

Bring me a community dedicated to organizing our efforts towards some worthy goal, and I'll probably join.

Bring me a community dedicated towards fostering creativity among it's members, and you'll have my attention.

But this? It's a waste of time. Relatively harmless as far as those go, but it still brings us inexorably closer to our own death without offering anything to show for it.

It saddens me that you had to post this anonymously. Partially because we could have been friends, but more so because I might have helped free you from whatever obsession compelled you to cross-post the invitation in 226 journals. Life is precious - why waste a single minute?
