A bird in the house is worth...?

So, Jason called me on my cellphone, and no matter where I walked in the house, I coudn't seem to get a decent signal. So, I opened the front door and walked outside. This helped a little, but when I turned around, there was a reasonably large bird of some sort perched atop my door. And as I tried to figure out how I was going to walk past without scaring it into the house, it took matters into it's own hands and flew in.

The dog looked curiously at me as I made my way back inside, but didn't feel compelled to chase the bird through my living room. That's a relief, I suppose, but I could use some help locating it. See, I have no idea where the bird went. It's not chirping, it's not flapping around, it's just hiding.

Can't say I'm thrilled with this arrangement.

Hungarian folklore states that a bird flying into your house is an omen of bad luck. Perhaps locating the bird won't be the least of your problems.

Oddly, this doesn't surprise me.
