To read makes our speaking english good.

Just finished reading Robert J. Sawyer's Illegal Alien. Science-Fiction / Mystery / Courtroom Drama. It's quite enjoyable, well crafted and thought out. But not as mind-bogglingly brilliant as the Terminal Experiment, Flashforward, or Factoring Humanity. It had more in common with Calculating God, actually. (Both very good books, but not the must-read phenomena those others represent)

Next up, I have a copy of End of an Era sitting here, which deals with time travel, so I'm really looking forward to it. And Frameshift, which seems to fit more in line with Sawyer's stronger offerings.

So, I've got stuff to read. Which is great. And people seem to be leaving me alone to read it. Which is bizarre.

I wonder if the phone's off the hook?

I'm in Rotaract. Got myself a Paul Harris Fellow pin, too. So, yeah. You caught me.

But I should point out that you jumped to conclusions. The "Interests" list in my profile is made up of things which interest me, things which consume my thoughts. If you talk about any of these things near me, I will listen in on your conversation, and have things to say if invited to join in. The items in that list are not necessarily things I like, however.

Insomnia is a pretty good example. I'm not a big fan of being unable to sleep, and yet the idea is foremost on my mind every night around this time. Stagnation is another one. There are few things in the world which bother me more than getting stuck in a rut. No progress, no closer to accomplishing anything.. I can't stand it. Which means I have more than a passing interest, and it makes the list.

Granted, it's hard to imagine anyone knowing about Rotary International and not liking Rotary. But my profile's pretty ambiguous, so I might have been the rare exception. =)

I try to keep things pretty anonymous here, but my profile does give a location. You can probably extrapolate which club I'm in from that. =)
