self portrait (escher)

Does anybody really know what time it is?

Every time-keeping device at my disposal self-adjusted for DST this morning. Not one of them mentioned that it had done so. So I spent most of the day in a paranoid stupor, unsure if I was in sync with the rest of my timezone.

This eventually solved the problem. As would have calling time, I suppose, but using my phone seems to cause more drama than not using it, so I didn't give that option a lot of thought.

Anyway, it's a fun paradox -- I don't want to be bothered by any task which can be easily automated, but am clearly bothered by having them automated.

Let this be a lesson to engineers and software developers everywhere:
You can't win. I'll never be happy, so just give up now.

let the nightmare begin!

The mailboxes at my apartment are big enough to handle envelopes, but I have no idea what would happen if a package arrived for me.

I have therefore arranged for five of 'em.
(packages, not mailboxes)

Can't live our lives governed by fear, y'know?
