Spent the past few days going through proper channels to have replacements issued -- not pirating things makes life difficult at times. There's a lot of beauracracy, but I'm fascinated by the whole process.
In related news, I've purchased an academic license for Visual Studio .NET 2003, but had to contact Microsoft about letting me transfer that license to an older version. I've never heard the term "Downgrade" before -- in this age of constant progress, who would have need to describe such a concept? But it's actually fairly common, and they've got mechanisms in place to facilitate exactly this.
As you might have guessed, there is a big project in the works which demands I go to these lengths. I'm very excited about it - this could be the missing link that ties everything together. But, it doesn't take well to verbal description, so I more or less have to leave it at that.
