random creativity excercise

Suppose you're given limited access to a time machine. You can swap two celebrities or historical figures, dropping each into the other's career to try and complete that person's destiny in their own unique style. Who would you choose, and why?
    example:
Jerry Lewis can commmand the Third Reich while Adolph Hitler films "the Nutty Professor" and hosts all of those telethons. As for why, I can't think of any reason. But the imagery does make me laugh.

Can't be a good thing
I can't think why, but my first thought would be to swap Denis Leary and Jesus Christ.
I think I'd probably go to hell for that though.

I love it.

Leary, ever critical of Christianity, is able to reshape the institution to his liking. And many years later, Christ can take angry jabs at those changes onstage. It's all balanced.

The obligatory comics answer...
Stan Lee and Bob Kane.

If only so that people would stop complaining about the Adam West version ruining Batman's image...

Hmm.
Bob Kane was never as prolific as Stan Lee, so that swap might lose us some of Marvel's best loved characters. On the other hand, Ravage 2099 might have ended up being good...

Woody Allen / King Henry VIII
Henry VIII would simply have beheaded Mia Farrow. This would have saved a lot of trouble. In the meantime, Woody would still have dropped Catholicism, but he would have converted the English people to Judaism.
