Why accomplishing things takes so long

    Thought #1:
I just know I've got a Windows CD around here someplace.

    Thought #2:
I've been meaning to put all my important discs together in one CD book to keep better track of. Maybe I did that?

    Thought #3:
Gosh, I own a lot of CD books. What's in this one?

    Thought #4:
It's the Parappa the Rapper soundtrack!

    Thought #5:
"In the rain or in the snow, I've got the funky flow, and now, I've really got to go!"

    Thought #6:
Crap. What was I looking for?

    Thought #7:
This is going to take a while.

yup!
It's a great series, mostly for it's bizarre storylines and absurd sense of humor. Um Jammer Lammy, I think was my favorite.

Those are both relatively old - they were made for the original Playstation, so you should be able to find 'em pretty cheap, and they'll also work on the PS2 if that's what you've got access to.

Parappa 2 was equally fun, but it felt way too short. This one's only PS2, and won't work on the original Playstation. If you can find a used copy, the game's probably worth $10-15. Don't pay $50 for it.

Other games you might enjoy from that era are Incredible Crisis (it too has very strange humor) and Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee (as opposed to Abe's Exoddus, which I don't think was as good).

These might last you a while, then. None of them are terribly easy. But the Parappa ones might prove to be a style you're better at. Or at least can drag someone over who's better at it than you to solve it in front of you.

Re: lost in space
No puzzle solving in the Parappa games. Just timing, and remembering which button is which.

-----

Lara Croft is much harder to control than she ought to be. Too many buttons performing similar tasks - it's just not a good design. We saw controls no less sophisticated in Prince of Persia recently, but they were so intuitively arranged, it put Tomb Raider's designers to shame.

If it's any consolation, I'm told the Last Revelation was a huge embarassment for everyone involved.

-----

Oddworld's got some thinking to it. Let's take that one off your list.

I take that back. Parappa 2 was terribly easy.

But you should still start with the first one, and then Um Jammer Lammy. Particularly since you don't have a PS2 to play Parappa 2 on anyway.

That'd be cool. You're welcome to it. (You may have to substitute something people actually remember for the CD found)
