This is clever.

It's an excercise bike tied into a gaming computer. How fast you pedal affects gameplay, and gameplay affects how much resistance you're pedalling against. One of the launch games is networked, and I'm sure there will be high scores to work towards and defend on every game.

Four or five simple ideas, tied together beautifully.

They're going to be very rich.

...and many many people are going to hurt themselves.

Sounds like something that should've been on Dreamcast...
After all, that console was the kind of alternative controllers.

The king, even.

Still, it would have to be a very expensive controller. And for that, we look to Capcom on the XBox...

But, no. They're not pricing this for home use. The plan is to target gymnasiums directly. The product increases membership retention and causes people in nearby gyms to switch over, so it's a good investment at whatever bloated price they assign this. At least until someone introduces a better product, but even then, there'll be patents and royalties to keep prices up there.

Plus, having it at a gym means liability insurance, and someone on-hand to call the ambulance when needed...
